Hi! 👋🏽 I’m Mandy, the boss babe behind Cape Cod Photobus. My love for VWs runs deep!

When I was in high school Volkswagen came out the Rialta RV, and at the time my idol was Ansel Adams. My dream was to convert the Rialta bathroom into a darkroom, and drive around the world taking photos!

Then, in college, I got really into the hippie vibes and wanted an iconic VW bus. Fast forward a decade to when I lived in Dresden, Germany and I was in VW heaven! It was there, on school vacation (I’m was a high school teacher by day), I took a trip to Portugal, rented a 1979 camper named “Saffron,” and fell madly in love with all things VW campervan! After that trip, I vowed that when I moved back to the States I would start a VW campervan rental business in Alaska if no one had yet.

In 2017 I started Last Frontier Westys (which I called Trickster Trips at the time) and made that dream a reality. Having a small fleet of Westfalias was radical, and though I miss them, they’re in great hands! (Check them out if you have an Alaska adventure in your future!)

And now? Now, I’m on Cape Cod and I just couldn’t live without a VW! I found “Samambaia” (Portuguese for fern) and knew we needed to be together! So, here we are! Now you know a little about me, and my VW obsession, (did I mention I drive the fully-electric iD4 for my daily driver?)
